Ghost Town - Decaf - Specialty Instant Coffee

We work with an incredibly distinguished manufacturer to create each of our Specialty Instant Coffees. We roast every coffee to our high-quality standards, at which point they are then brewed into a high extraction concentrate utilizing hot water only (no chemicals or other additives).

Next, the coffee is frozen to sub-zero temperatures and placed in a chamber where a vacuum environment is applied to the coffee. Slowly and gently (days not hours) the brewed coffee is dehydrated under vacuum where the frozen water bound in the brewed coffee passes from its ice stage into a gas without passing into liquid form. 

This process is commonly referred to as freeze-drying. Freeze drying is recognized by many food scientists to be the best method for preserving flavor. Studies have shown that freeze-drying can preserve up to 97% of the enzymatic activity of food.

Instant coffee is fully water-soluble and no further extraction is needed to prepare a delicious cup of coffee. One only needs to reconstitute the coffee with water to their desired strength preference. Generally speaking, we recommend stirring 1g of instant coffee per 55g of filtered water; hot or cold water works perfectly fine. We recommend water around 180°F.

1 sachet contains 5g of instant coffee. We recommend pouring a sachet into a mug or cup and then adding 275 ml (or roughly 10oz) of water per sachet.

For an instant “espresso” drink, stir 5g of instant coffee with 40-50 ml of hot water to create a concentrate roughly the consistency of espresso. Add steamed milk; latte art is completely possible.

Yes! Instant coffee dissolves in just about any hot or cold liquid such as water, milk, dairy alternatives, or tonic. 

Each box contains 6 sachets.

We recommend drinking our instant coffee within 2 years of the roast date. The bottom of each box indicates the best-by date.

Please store the coffee in a cool, dry environment to ensure shelf life.

The single-serve sachets utilize 60% compostable materials by weight. The remaining material has an additive that will allow the material to break down in an estimated 5-10 years compared to ~1000 with conventional plastics. 

The box is fully recyclable.
