The Rally was invented by coffee educator Sean in celebration of International Coffee Day! Despite what might be called intense ingredients - like Whiskey Cold Brew - this cocktail is extremely light, bubbly and refreshing. Perfect for when you've got a little extra time on your hands and are ready to impress!
This recipe features a vegan milk punch: something much less common in cocktail creation these days. Don't let the "milk" fool you, this is a spritz-esque cocktail full of surprising ingredients that work in perfect harmony.
Cold brew whiskey m*lk punch
Butterfly pea flower ice cubes
Vodka, we recommend Titos!
Sparkling water, we recommend Topo Chico!
1.5 cups blackberries
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
Cold brew whiskey
Blackberry simple syrup
For Blackberry Simple:
For m*lk punch:
Make Blueberry Simple Syrup:
Combine 1 cup water and 1 cup white sugar in a pot on the stove top on low heat, whisk until sugar is melted
Add 1.5 cups blackberries and simmer for 15 minutes
Strain syrup and rest in fridge until ready to make m*lk punch!
Make M*lk Punch:
Combine 1 part whiskey cold brew with .75 fresh lemon juice and .75 blueberry simple into a wide container
Slowly drip a mixture of half oat milk, half coconut milk over top of the combined liquid
Pro tip: the slower the better, the amount of milk should be roughly 20-25% of the volume of your mixture
Set aside and let curdle for an hour
Strain mixture with a cheesecloth or a coffee filter
Set aside until ready to assemble your cocktail!
Butterfly Pea Flower Ice (optional)
Butterfly pea flower brews bright blue tea that when made into ice provides a color-changing property to drinks, because it reacts with citrus!
To add some flare to your drink, brew butterfly pea flower tea and make it into ice cubes
Freeze ahead of time and use for cocktail assembly!
Add ice or butterfly pea flower ice to a tall glass
Pour 4oz of m*lk punch over ice
Add .5 oz of vodka of choice
Top with seltzer water
Give it a gentle stir, and enjoy!
